BEST EVER HEALTHY BURGER SAUCE

Turkey Burgers

There is no longer need to use sugar-ladened sauces and mayo with trans fats or genetically modified oils

high in omega 6.

Here is a great recipe, which is dairy free, full of good healthy fats and very low in sugar.

​

It is possible to use another healthy oil such as olive oil or macadamia oil, however, you want to ensure that the oil you choose has minimal taste or is neutral in flavour.  Otherwise it will change the flavour of the sauce.

Ingredients

1 free range egg

1 tsp apple cider vinegar

1-2 tsp mustard (can use dijon or american or fresh!)

2 tsp herbs of choice

1/2 tsp paprika (you choose - sweet or smoked)

1 gherkin

1 tsp dehydrated onion / onion powder

1/2 cup avocado oil (see note above)

Additional gherkin

Chilli

Sriracha if you like it spicy!

Method​
 

  • Using a food processor, place all ingredients except the avocado oil in the bowl.

  • As the processor is churning the ingredients, using a dessert bowl, slowly pour the avocado oil over the back of the spoon and into the processor bowl to combine with other ingredients.  This step must be done relatively slowly or the ingredients will not emulsify (combine) and will remain separated and lumpy.

  • Once all of the avocado oil has been combined you can stop the food processor.

​​

  • Enjoy!
